Rock, Roll, Glam! is a blog dedicated to bringing you high-quality reviews and swatches from the perspective of an every day makeup user.  I focus primarily on indie and drugstore brands, but that doesn’t mean I’m immune to the call of Sephora, haha. I’m constantly revamping my review system (and older reviews) to ensure that this blog can be a comprehensive source for makeup fans on a budget.

The blog name was created during a brainstorming session. I wanted it to be unique (how many beauty blogs have you seen with the words ‘beauty’, ‘makeup’, ‘glitter’, etc. in them?) and allude to my love for rocker-inspired makeup.

Hi! I’m Ivy, a 20-something Chinese-American girl born and bred in New York, but currently residing in sunny Los Angeles.  I’ve been writing about indie business since sometime in 2009 as a blogger in the t-shirt community. (Look it up if you love graphic design; it’s really interesting!) In the real world I’m an aspiring concept artist with a love for game development. I hope to one day participate in the creation of a triple-A title!  As far as cosmetics go, I’m right there with most of you — I’m a regular Jane makeup user.  I have no experience with cosmetics beyond what I have discovered on my own through reading and experimentation.

Makeup aside (obviously!), I enjoy video games, tabletop games, all things tech, art, and of course the rock/metal music this blog was named for.  I’m a proud nerd and enjoy defying the stereotype that female geeks are unstylish.  Some of my favorite games include Warhammer 40,000, League of Legends, Magic: The Gathering, Mass Effect, and Bioshock.
